Neon signs first gained popularity as far back as the 1920's.  It was a new and exciting way to attract customers, even working well during the day, and it seemed that by the mid 1950's, every shopfront was using Neon to advertise their wares.

In the 1960's Neons popularity began to wane, with the introduction of alternative fluorescent-filled plastic tubed lights, Neon signs were being taken down, stored away in dark attics and replaced with alternative eye-catching marketing.

But thankfully, people began to realise that nothing attracts more than an exciting Neon sign!  Businesses started to have new Neon signs made, and those vintage Neon signs are now being brought back out of storage and restored to their former glory, so that they can be appreciated again for the pieces of art that they are!
