The Texaco Fire Chief Neon Clock is a celebration of how the Texas Oil Company (Texaco) has always understood the power of marketing and their audience. When their line of premium fuel was not selling well enough, they re-branded it as “Fire Chief”. However, they did not stop with just giving it the symbol of the most respected person in the village. When you put Fire Chief Petrol in your motor, every child in the car received a free plastic Fire Chief helmet like the one on the Neon clock. It must have worked, I still have mine up in the loft somewhere….
